The Resilience Ward was inspired by feedback from across all levels of the NHS, which highlighted the need for immediate capacity solutions that will flex to serve as a robust part of the healthcare estates of the future – for decades to come.
Drawing on aspects of the P22 Repeatable Room standards and Hospital 2.0, our architectural design experts explored multiple arrangements and varying scales to create the optimal ward layout for patient care and nursing staff.
The resulting ward is fully scalable and designed to create permanent, compliant, high-quality, repeatable ward accommodation. Thanks to its design, ward capacity can be increased easily to provide anything from 16 beds upwards to suit demand.
Utilising innovative Modern Methods of Construction, the Resilience Ward design is highly adaptable, providing a long-term solution that can be multi-stacked now or in the future, flexing to the ever-changing demands of busy trusts.
The ward is highly efficient from the perspective of clinical resources, bed clustering and sight-lines. It is Net Zero Carbon in operation ready, and the performance of the building ensures revenue budgets are maximised.
Standardisation and repeatability have been taken to new levels to increase flexibility and future adaptability, while the building is designed to achieve minimum compliance standards.
